Expo 2025 Baku meets youth in Ganja

This week Expo 2025 Baku’s Theme Leaders gave a presentation to students and young people in Ganja, Azerbaijan’s second largest city, to discuss the country’s bid to host World Expo 2025.

Dr Maryam Gafar-zade, Jasarat Valehli and Rena Abdullayeva spoke to attendees on Expo 2025 Baku’s theme of ‘Developing Human Capital, Building A Better Future’ and its aim of developing the fields of health, education and work to benefit young people in Azerbaijan and worldwide. Attendees were enthusiastic to ask questions about the bid, how they could get involved and what a World Expo in Baku would mean for them.

Expo 2025 Baku has previously visited several other cities and regions across Azerbaijan to raise awareness about the bid and to meet people who are excited about the country’s chance to host a World Expo in 2025.

In Azerbaijan 65% of the population are under the age of 40. If Baku is chosen to host World Expo 2025, it would provide opportunities for young people in Azerbaijan to volunteer and connect with individuals from around the world, as well as driving investment in the country.
