World Expo Baku 2025 hosts Theme Symposium in Paris

World Expo 2025 Baku hosted a Theme Symposium at the Pavilion Vendome in Paris today.  The event was an opportunity for BIE delegates to explore in depth the theme of Developing Human Capital, Building a Better Future ahead of next month’s vote to select the host city for World Expo 2025.

Attendees heard an inspiring keynote speech from Peter Fisk, a global thought leader and Professor in leadership, strategy and innovation at IE Business School.  Mr. Fisk said: “Talent, vitality and achievement.  This is our pathway to progress.  Developing human capital is the way to develop a more creative and thoughtful, a more equal and accessible world.  At a time of incredible global change and technological advance, it is human capital that accelerates the potential and the progress of humanity to build a better and brighter future for all of us.”

Guests then heard presentations from Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister for Education, Mr. Sahil Babayev, Minister of Labour & Social Protection of the Population Ms. Maryam Gafar-Zada, Theme Leader for Vitality, as the event delved deeper into the different sub-themes, exploring health, education and work as the drivers of Developing Human Capital.  The audience had the opportunity to participate in a Q&A with the speakers.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Elchin Amirbayov, Assistant to the First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chief Delegate of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the BIE, said: “Our proposed theme is of universal concern and offers wide scope for interpretation relevant to all participants. We’re committed to offering preferential treatment for foreign participants and to supporting the inclusion and participation of developing countries.  We are ready and eager to welcome you.”
