Logo for UEFA Europa League Final Baku 2019 Unveiled

UEFA, the governing body for European football, has released the logo for the UEFA Europa League Cup Final which will be played in Baku on May 29 next year.

The logo, or identity, shows the iconic UEFA Europa League trophy surrounded by some of Baku's celebrated buildings. It shows ancient and modern architectural treasures including the Philharmonic Hall, the Flame Towers, the Maiden Tower, the Heydar Aliyev Center and Government House.

Azerbaijan’s reputation as the 'land of fire' has inspired the distinctive flame shapes in the logo. And a bespoke UEFA Europa League textile pattern, of the sort used in traditional Azerbaijani rugs, is also featured. The branding will appear on a range of promotional applications, increasing the allure of one of European club football's great tournaments and introducing the excitement of a new destination for the final.

The venue for the final, Baku’s Olympic Stadium, seats nearly 70,000 spectators. The stadium will also stage matches in the 2020 EURO Championships. Read UEFA’s story about the new brand identity. Also, read UEFA’s guide to Baku and the Olympic Stadium.
