Azerbaijan makes progress in health

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has praised Azerbaijan for its progress in meeting sustainable health objectives and disease prevention.

This was expressed in a recent letter from the Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to Azerbaijan’s Minister of Health, Ogtay Shiraliyev.

“The political will in the country for implementing the goals of sustainable development, including the prevention of diseases such as malaria, poliomyelitis and measles, Azerbaijan’s achievements in the field of health really amazed me,” the letter said. The Director General expressed his willingness to provide assistance to Azerbaijan’s ambitious healthcare places.

Expo 2025 Baku will focus on “Vitality: the Future of Health” as one of its three sub-themes, recognising the importance of healthy individuals, communities and environment.
