Expo Faces: Leyla Taghizade, Doctor and Innovator

‘Expo Faces’ is a series of articles looking at the faces and voices of people across Azerbaijan who support Baku’s bid to host World Expo 2025. Today we hear from Leyla Taghizade, a doctor, innovator and mother of three who supports entrepreneurialism in Vitality: the Future of Health.

My name is Dr Leyla Taghizade, I am a medical professional and a member of the American Association of Advancement of Science. I am also the co-founder of startup accelerator, Social Innovation Lab, and the founder of HealthBox – which is a health app in Azerbaijan which transfers patient data directly to physicians and pharmacists.

I believe that technology and innovation can be a powerful tool for solving healthcare problems, whether on a national scale by Governments or by putting personal health in the hands of each individual.

The sub-theme, Vitality: the Future of Health, is an important topic to be addressed at World Expo 2025 Baku. As an active campaigner for the UN Sustainable Development Goal, Good Health and Well-Being, I think this will be a remarkable opportunity to share technological solutions, innovative approaches and mark our progress to a healthier future.
