Azerbaijan Pursues UN SDGs

The UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, Ghulam Isaczai, said at a conference on 2 July that the UN highly estimates Azerbaijan’s efforts in achieving UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and that the organisation was ready to assist Azerbaijan.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Coordination Council for Sustainable Development, Ali Ahmadov, also noted that Azerbaijan has chosen 17 goals, 107 targets and 150 indicators for itself.

Azerbaijan hopes that a World Expo 2025 in Baku would offer the country, and the world, to evaluate progress towards meeting UN SDGs. Expo 2025 Baku offers a universal theme focused on developing human capital and the future of health, education and work.
